Board and Committee Meetings
The North Carolina Board of Nursing holds its Board and Committee meetings at the Board of Nursing office located at:
North Carolina Board of Nursing
4516 Lake Boone Trail
Raleigh, NC 27607
Board meetings are held each year in January, May, and September, during which there is an Open Comment Period. Board meetings are open to the public and individuals are encouraged to attend. Due to the limited space and seating for meetings, the Board is pleased to offer live streaming of Board meetings. Live streaming allows large groups to observe the meeting from any location with an internet connection.
Open Comment Period
The purpose of the Open Comment Period is to provide members of the nursing community with an opportunity to bring issues of concern to the Board. Individuals are encouraged to share their concerns, offer views, and present questions regarding issues that impact nursing and nursing regulation.
How to speak during the Open Comment Period
This is an opportunity for an open exchange of ideas; there is no pre-established agenda, but we do ask that anyone wishing to speak at the Open Comment Period notify the Board of Nursing. Educators/students from schools of nursing, representatives from associations/councils, nursing executives from various settings, as well as members of the public are invited to attend. Written comments must be submitted on the day of the Open Comment Period. Individuals will have five (5) minutes to address the Board.
