The North Carolina Board of Nursing is seeking an Attorney in the Legal Department. This attorney in this position provides legal services to the North Carolina Board of Nursing and prosecutes violators of the Nursing Practice Act.
Primary responsibilities of this position are interpreting and applying law to evidence and other information; utilizing and evaluating electronic legal research and online systems; techniques used in interviewing witnesses; using judgment and logic to identify the strengths and weaknesses of case facts; researching and identifying precedence in case law; negotiating plea agreements; organizing work; setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines.
Education and Experience
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of law with a minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional legal experience.
- Experience preferred in the area of administrative law including conducting hearings before an Administrative Law Judge, Board or Commission.
Must be licensed to practice Law in the State of North Carolina. ;
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This is a fulltime position located in Raleigh, NC office.
